As we come to the close of another year, I want to pause and sincerely thank you for the faithful work you do serving individuals, families, and communities across Central Florida. As a former ministry leader, I understand the weight and responsibility that comes with shepherding people through seasons of joy, suffering, doubt, and growth.
Ministry often places you on the front lines of people’s pain, questions, and crises—and you carry that responsibility with prayer, wisdom, and perseverance.
Scripture reminds us:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
Over the past year, I have had the honor of supporting individuals, children, teens, men, and families through counseling during seasons of anxiety, depression, trauma, relational strain, burnout, and major life transitions. Many of those individuals were also actively connected to their churches, relying on pastoral care and spiritual guidance alongside clinical support.
Scripture reminds us:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
My role as a counselor is not to replace pastoral care, discipleship, or spiritual formation. Rather, counseling serves as a supportive layer—helping individuals develop emotional regulation skills, process trauma, improve communication, and regain stability so they can more fully engage in their faith, relationships, and calling.
The apostle Paul reminds us that the work of care is shared:
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit… Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:4,7
When emotional and mental health struggles go unaddressed, they can quietly interfere with spiritual growth, family life, and leadership capacity. Counseling can help remove those barriers and create space for healing, reflection, and renewal—so individuals are better equipped to live out what God is doing in their lives.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
— Proverbs 4:23
When individuals desire faith-integrated counseling, their spiritual values are honored and thoughtfully incorporated. When they prefer a more clinically focused approach, that preference is respected as well. Confidentiality and ethical boundaries are always maintained, while collaboration with churches is welcomed when appropriate and permitted.
Scripture speaks to the value of wise counsel:
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
— Proverbs 20:18
Counseling can be especially helpful when individuals are:
As we move into the new year, my prayer is that this work continues with humility, discernment, and steadfastness. I am committed to serving Central Florida with care that reflects compassion, professionalism, and deep respect for the role of the local church.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9
I invite your prayers:
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you.”
— Numbers 6:24–26
If you would like to connect, ask questions, or discuss how counseling may support those you serve, I welcome the conversation.
With gratitude and respect,
Keenan Crowley
