Family & parent counseling

Raising people while still being one.

Counseling for parents, families, and children navigating the weight of family life — anxiety, transitions, conflict, and the work of staying connected.

The honest part

Family is the hardest work most people do.

Parenting is one of the most demanding roles a person can hold. It asks you to show up consistently for someone else while managing your own stress, your own history, and your own unresolved patterns.

Family conflict, a child who is struggling, a teenager who has shut down, a season of transition that has unsettled everyone — these are real, and they deserve real support.

Counseling for families isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about understanding what's happening and building a more workable way of being together.

Who I work with

Children, teens, parents, and families.

Parents

Parents navigating the stress of raising children, managing their own anxiety, working through conflict with a co-parent, or trying to show up better for their kids than they feel capable of right now.

Children & adolescents

Kids and teens dealing with anxiety, school stress, behavioral challenges, social difficulty, or the emotional weight of family transitions. With younger children, I often use play-based approaches.

Families in transition

Families navigating divorce, blended family dynamics, a move, a loss, or any major change that has shifted the footing for everyone in the household.

Families in conflict

Families where communication has broken down, where the same arguments keep happening, or where distance has built between parents and children over time.

My approach

Practical tools for the whole family system.

My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and adapted to the person — or people — in front of me. With children and teens, that often means using play, creativity, or other expressive approaches to help them communicate what words can't.

With parents, the work is often about understanding your own patterns and how they show up in your parenting — not to assign blame, but to give you more choices in the moment.

For families who want to bring faith into the conversation, that's welcome. For those who don't, we don't need to.

Common questions

Before you reach out.

Do you work with children and teens?

Yes. I work with children and adolescents dealing with anxiety, behavioral challenges, school stress, and the emotional weight of family transitions. With younger children, I often use play-based approaches to help them express what words can't.

Do you offer counseling for parents?

Yes. I work with parents navigating the stress of raising children, managing family conflict, and figuring out how to show up well for their kids while also taking care of themselves.

Can we do family sessions together?

Yes. Depending on what's most useful, we may work together as a family, individually, or a combination of both. The structure is flexible and shaped around what will actually help.

Do you offer faith-integrated counseling for families?

Yes, if that's meaningful to your family. I work with families across a range of beliefs and backgrounds. Faith can be part of the conversation if it's part of your life — and it doesn't have to be if it isn't.
