Your mind does not power down
You replay conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, or carry a level of pressure that never quite lets up.
Counseling
Clinical counseling for focused, professional care when insight alone has not been enough.
Get in touchClinical counseling
My clinical counseling work is a dedicated setting for people who are ready to understand what feels heavy, repetitive, or difficult to change.
This site is a place for broader conversations, resources, speaking, and the Rooted & Real podcast. Counseling is the right next step when you are looking for individual support or want to explore whether this kind of care fits your needs.
Who I work with
Each person and relationship brings something different. Explore the kind of support that fits where you are.
For men navigating anxiety, pressure, relationships, and the weight of expectations. Direct, practical, and judgment-free.
For partners stuck in recurring conflict, struggling to communicate, or working to rebuild connection.
For parents, children, and families navigating transitions, conflict, and the work of staying connected.
Does this sound like you?
You do not need a perfectly worded reason to start. Counseling can be a private, judgment-free place to name what is happening, understand the pattern beneath it, and practice a more workable response in real life.
Get in touchYou replay conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, or carry a level of pressure that never quite lets up.
You have read, reflected, and tried to make changes—yet the same reaction or avoidance pattern still takes over in the moment.
You want more connection or clearer communication, but the important conversations keep ending in distance, conflict, or silence.
A change in work, family, faith, identity, or loss has shifted your footing and made everyday life feel harder to navigate.
Services & fees
All sessions are offered Monday through Friday based on current availability. Appointments may begin between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and must end by 6:00 PM.
A supportive space to better understand emotions, recognize patterns that may be contributing to current concerns, and work toward meaningful personal goals. Sessions are tailored to each client and may draw from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and other appropriate approaches.
Sessions may address stress, relationships, life transitions, emotional well-being, personal growth, and faith-related concerns when requested.
Insurance: HeartBonds Counseling accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna. Coverage, copays, and deductibles vary by plan — verify your benefits before relying on coverage.
Counseling designed to support children and teens in expressing emotions, navigating challenges, developing healthy coping and communication skills, and working toward age-appropriate treatment goals.
Sessions may include talk therapy, play-based interventions, creative activities, or sand tray interventions when clinically appropriate — providing additional ways to communicate and process experiences when putting feelings into words is difficult.
Parent & Caregiver Collaboration
Parents or caregivers may be involved through brief check-ins or separate parent consultations, focusing on treatment progress and ways to support goals at home while maintaining appropriate confidentiality for the child or teen.
A caregiver-only session that may be incorporated into a child's counseling when clinically appropriate. Keenan meets with the parent or caregiver without the child present to review treatment progress, discuss relevant observations, and collaborate on practical strategies that support the child's treatment goals.
Parent consultations support the child's treatment but are not therapy for the parent, a custody or parenting evaluation, or a substitute for the child's individual counseling sessions.
Counseling focused on improving communication, navigating conflict, strengthening connection, and addressing relationship or family concerns.
Couples and family therapy is offered on a self-pay basis only and is not submitted to insurance for coverage or reimbursement.

You are welcome to bring the parts of your life that matter most to you into counseling — including your faith. For clients who desire it, Christian faith can be thoughtfully incorporated into the counseling process, guided by the client's beliefs, values, needs, and treatment goals.
When requested and clinically appropriate, sessions may incorporate Christian beliefs and values, Scripture, prayer, or spiritual reflection alongside established counseling approaches. Faith is never required or imposed, and clients determine the role it plays in their counseling.
Clients may request faith integration when scheduling, during an initial consultation, or directly with Keenan at any point. Preferences may be changed at any time.
Virtual counseling may be available when clinically appropriate and based on scheduling availability. Telehealth is not appropriate for every client or situation — this will be discussed during the intake process.
A brief initial consultation is available for prospective clients who have questions about services, scheduling, or whether counseling with Keenan may be a good fit. The consultation does not include diagnosis, clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, clinical recommendations, or therapy advice.

01
Support for racing thoughts, pressure, overwhelm, and the patterns that make daily life feel harder than it needs to.
02
A place to work with communication, conflict, boundaries, connection, and the dynamics that matter most to you.
03
Support through change, loss, uncertainty, purpose, and the questions that emerge as your life shifts.
04
A compassionate, paced setting for experiences that still feel emotionally heavy, disruptive, or close to the surface.
My approach
My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and shaped around the person in front of me. We will pay attention to the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that show up in your actual life—not just in the abstract—and build realistic ways to respond when it matters. Counseling is collaborative: you set the pace, we stay honest about what is and is not helping, and we keep the work connected to the life you want to live.
Starting well
Reaching out is simply a way to begin exploring what counseling might look like for you.
You can share what has been difficult in your own words. Early conversations focus on what you need and whether counseling feels like the right fit.
If we work together, sessions will be shaped around your goals, your pace, and practical ways to carry the work beyond the room.
Common questions
Don't see your question here? Reach out through the contact page — there's no obligation, just a conversation.
Counseling services are offered on a private-pay, out-of-network basis. This means sessions are not billed directly to insurance, but many clients receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network mental health benefits. You can use the Thrizer benefits checker on this page to get an estimate of what your plan may cover.
Out-of-network means you pay for sessions directly, then submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement. Depending on your plan, your insurer may reimburse a portion of the session fee after your deductible is met. Thrizer can help simplify this process and provide an upfront estimate of your benefits.
You do not need a crisis or a clear diagnosis to start. If something feels stuck—a pattern you keep repeating, a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, or a weight you cannot quite name—that is enough of a reason to explore it. The first conversation is simply about whether this feels like the right kind of support for you.
The first session is a chance to share what has been on your mind and for us to get a clearer picture of what you are hoping to work on. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. We will talk about your goals, what has and has not helped in the past, and whether working together makes sense.
It depends on what you are working on and what you want from the process. Some people find meaningful progress in a focused stretch of sessions; others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We will check in regularly about how things are going and adjust the pace to fit your needs.
Yes. Everything shared in counseling is confidential, with limited exceptions required by law—such as situations involving imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. Confidentiality and its limits will be explained clearly before we begin.
Faith can be part of the conversation if it is part of your life. I work with clients across a range of beliefs and backgrounds. If your faith is meaningful to you and relevant to what you are working through, we can bring it in. If it is not, we do not need to.
