My path to becoming a mental health worker wasn’t a straight line—it was shaped by my own experiences of struggle, growth, and faith. Like many people, I’ve had seasons where life felt heavier than I could carry alone. Those moments taught me the value of having someone walk alongside you with both honesty and compassion.
Over time, I realized that this wasn’t just something I needed for myself—it was something I was called to give to others. That calling led me into counseling, where I found a way to bring together my love for people, my belief in resilience, and my faith in God’s ability to bring healing and hope.
Every step of this journey—whether in the classroom, under the guidance of mentors, or sitting across from clients—has deepened my conviction that change is possible. Not because life suddenly gets easy, but because we discover the strength, perspective, and support we need to face it differently.
This result of years of learning, growing, and saying “yes” to this calling. My story continues to shape the way I show up with clients: real, grounded, and fully committed to walking with them as they navigate their own journeys.
I believe counseling should feel like a conversation, not a lecture. My role isn’t to “fix” people, but to walk alongside them—helping them untangle what feels overwhelming, notice patterns that keep them stuck, and discover new ways forward.
My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. With kids and teens, that might look like using play, creativity, or even sand tray therapy to help them express what words can’t. With adults, it often means blending practical tools with deeper reflection so that insight turns into lasting change. And for those who want it, I integrate faith into the process, because I’ve seen how powerful it can be when hope is anchored in something greater than ourselves.
At the core, my approach is simple: be honest, be compassionate, and be present. I want every client to feel both supported and challenged—to leave sessions not only feeling heard, but equipped with tools to handle the week ahead.
